My creative vision
In portraiture photography, light strobes, reflectors, and diffusers are my chisels. They allow me to reveal through the addition and subtraction of light and shadows the true essence of my subjects. I carve with lights until I reveal their soul.
My photographic style could be described as dramatic intellectual intimacy, present and sincere but also refreshing and engaging. I am a student of light and renaissance portraiture with a lifelong affinity for the classics in all its manifestations. Innovation and curiosity drive my creative spirit and they are a constant source of technical and artistic renovation. I approach the creative process of my portraits as not just mere visual representations of my subjects, but rather thoughtful revelations of the union of body and mind, the result of a conscious effort and attention to detail to capture and reveal my clients’ innermost humanity.
Some of my best inspirations come from the work of great master painters and photographers such as Vermeer, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Velazquez, John Singer Sargent, Julia Margaret Cameron, Yousuf Karsh, and so many other artists, including poets, philosophers, musicians and just about anyone with a deep creative thought.
